t 11pm on Sunday.Suspected terrorists have kidnapped the parish priest of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Karku in the Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Reverend Father Jeremiah Yakubu.

This was confirmed in a statement released by the Chancellor of Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, who revealed that Father Yakubu was kidnapped from the parish rectory in Kauru LGA at about 11pm on Sunday. The chancellor, while calling for an intense prayer for the quick and safe release of the victim from his abductors, urged the parishioners to refrain from taking laws into their hands.

He assured them that the church will use all legitimate means to ensure the quick return of the kidnapped Reverend Father.In a similar incident, SaharaReporters reported in May on how at least 40 worshippers were kidnapped by terrorists during a service at the Bege Baptist Church, Madalla on Buruku Baringi road in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
