A Civil Liberty Organisation (CSO), Paradigm Leadership Support Initiative, yesterday, urged the Federal Government to strengthen the nation’s security networks to guarantee free, fair and credible polls in 2023.

Executive Officer of the Initiative, Mr. Olusegun Elemo, gave the charge in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, during a vote-benefit-campaign rally held at Sango, Jericho, Iwo Road, Ashi, Mokola, Aleshinloye, Dugbe, Bodija and others, aimed at mobilising over 20,000 citizens towards collection of their Permanent Voter Cards.

Elemo said the 2023 elections would be a watershed in the annals of Nigeria’s political firmament, stressing that the polls would ensure possible changes in all sectors. He, therefore, urged registered voters to adequately use their PVCs in the forthcoming elections. He added that the election would change the story of the country for better, adding that the Independent National Electoral Commission has improved its system through the Bimodal Voters’ Accreditation System , which would curb electoral malfeasance, such as vote-trading.

Also, a young female good governance advocate, Judith Nwokoro, stated that Nigerians are well confident about BVAS as it will engender transparency in electoral process of the country.
