These figures were arrived at through analyses of IGR and FAAC data from the National Bureau of Statistics and domestic loans data from the Debt Management Office.
On the other hand, the states’ IGR was N817.19bn in 2016. It grew to N936.47bn in 2017, and increased further to N1.10tn in 2018. In 2019, it increased slightly to N1.23tn, and fell marginally to N1.21tn in 2020. In the period under review, Delta State got the most allocation from FAAC , and Osun State got the least . Lagos’s IGR was the highest , while Yobe’s IGR was the lowest .
Anambra got N234.22bn from FAAC, raised N106.29bn as IGR, and borrowed N56.40bn domestically. Bauchi got N227.82bn from FAAC, raised N46.94bn as IGR, and increased its domestic debt by N45.17bn.
