State governors under the auspices of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum have resolved to address the lingering issue of Right of Way (RoW) charges, the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, has said.

According to a statement signed by his technical assistant , Femi Adeluyi, the minister said the governors took the decision following the intervention of the federal government.

According to the statement, the resolution followed a presentation made by Mr Pantami at a meeting of the Governors’ Forum. The communications minister said the increment is detrimental to the government’s digital economy agenda. He noted that one of the key benefits is the rapid growth in the Gross Domestic Product of any country that increases its broadband penetration.

“There will no longer be any need to appeal to the governors on the issue of RoW,” the Ekiti State governor was quoted as saying.
