SUPPORTERS of the All Progressives Congress under the aegis of APC Rebirth Group, on Tuesday, warned the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker/Extraordinary National Working Committee against further delaying the convention.
This was contained in a statement titled, ‘Concerned APC stakeholders welcome Buhari’s approval of February convention date, and ask the CECPC to immediately commence the process,’ signed by one of its leaders, Aliyu Audu, in Abuja. Audu said, “This news of the directive of the President represents a clear response to our persistent demand for the conduct of the national convention which will give the APC a new leadership that will commence the much needed rebirth of the party in line with its founding principles and ideology.
“Apart from showing the seriousness it attaches to the approval by the President, the caretaker committee must not only announce a specific date for the convention, it must put all the necessary machinery for the conduct of the convention in place without further delay.
