Detained political activist and publisher of Sahara Reporter online news platform, Omoyele Sowore, has embarked on a hunger strike over the refusal of the State Security Service to set him free after meeting his bail conditions.
“Since yesterday he has refused to come down. He has refused to see anybody and this is in protest that his rights are being violated. The human rights activist was arrested and detained on allegations of a treasonable felony after he organised the nationwide protest with the hashtag #RevelutionNow.He was granted bail on October 4 for the second time after an initial one in September by another judge was not honoured by the SSS.
The judge later confirmed he had met the bail conditions and signed that Mr Sowore should be released. “Mr Sowore and Mandate Bakare were subsequently charged with treasonable felony, cyberstalking and money laundering on September 30, 2019.”

Good. Let him move closer to extinction. It’s a welcome development.
Sowore never believed in the supremacy of the Nigerian legal system, hence his resorting to street protest instead of heading to the courts like a true democrat in the first place. I wonder why he should expect much from the legal system he does not trust.

This is the 2nd time this Dss is disobeying a valid court order to release this man..this people have thrown Nigeria constitution under the bridge.. the judiciary legislature are now appendages of the executive..Nigeria has become a lawless state.
He should better eat good food and rest well. Don't kill your self because Dasuki and co are still in detention and only God knows the time they will be release, may be after 2023

Advise him to eat so that he will have strength to stand before a court. The criminals, this time around, are arraign even in wheelchair or hospital bed. No hiding for criminal.
This is too bad, Why are we like this? By this action they have end up proofing Sowore right about what he called them. Why should an Agency disobey Court order for God sake! This is not democracy again.
So how did he intend to bundle the President out of Villa, and stopped DSS from existing beyond 4th August, 2019? By hunger strikes?
He should eat sha, before he agrees to something in delirium. His captors don't have human hearts.
