President Tinubu had given marching orders to the military authorities to arrest the culprits following the gruesome murder.

The Nigerian Army says troops will not leave the creeks in Delta State until culprits in the killing of 17 military personnel are caught.Last week’s killing of the personnel in what is a major blow to the Nigerian Army drew outrage have continued to generate conversations in the country. Okuama community in Ughelli South Local Government Area, where the incident took place, was razed following the gruesome attack, further raising fears of reprisals from the military.

He further added that troops will continue to be in the creeks until these objectives are achieved.

The GOC further reiterated that no amount of propaganda, arm-twisting, blackmailing, intimidation, and false narratives would distract troops from staying on course to achieve their objectives. He, however, assured that the operations would be conducted in the most professional manner in line with the global best practice of adherence to rules of engagement and respect for the fundamental human rights of the citizenry.
