Residents of Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State have faulted police claims over the number of casualties in the latest attacks on their villages.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Sanusi, stated that nine persons were killed in the separate attacks that took place on November 15, 16 and 17 of 2021. Recall that the state Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, on Monday confirmed the killing of 15 people; 12 in Ilella and three in Goronyo, in an early morning attack.

Maintaining sealed lips on the Illela and Goronyo attacks, Sanusi , however, confirmed the three-day assaults on Sabon Birni, the epicentre of banditry in the state.
