The Katsina Area Commander, Dalha Wada Chedi, disclosed this on Thursday while briefing newsmen shortly after a Customs/Community Consultative Forum.
Chedi said, “desperate smugglers now collaborate with bandits to attack us leading to casualties among our officers.” He also said some members of the community are bent on blackmailing customs activities using false allegations and rumour mongering. However, Chedi warned the smugglers to desist from such and look for a legal and viable venture to indulge in, saying no matter the tactics they deploy, the law will catch up with them sooner or later.
