Four-time Olympic champion, Simone Biles, has claimed the US Women all-around title for the seventh time at the US Gymnastics Championship, which held on Sunday.
Biles presently holds the highest number of titles by any American woman in the all-around category, breaking her previous tie with Clara Schroth Lombady, who amassed her six all-around titles in the late ’40s and early ’50s. According to Olympics.com, Biles earned a two-day total score of 119.650 at the Dickies Arena, Texas, beating first-runner-up, Suni Lee, who scored 114.950 and Jordan Chiles, who scored 114.450.
Earning no score lower than 14.700 at all the events, Biles led in the vault, balance beam and floor exercises, in addition to the all-around. Speaking after the game, the gymnast said the championship stood out for her as it was the road to the Tokyo Olympics.
