EDITORIAL: Sickle Cell Disease Deserves More Attention

The United Nations designated June 19 as World Sickle Cell Awareness Day. It was first observed by the UN General Assembly in 2008 to highlight the sickle cell disease for people to know and feel the pain and the trauma that a patient suffering from the disease goes through.
