After over a decade power outage, the senator representing Ondo South Senatorial District, Nicholas Tofowomo, has assured residents of four local councils that electricity would be restored in the affected areas before December 2022.

At the stakeholders’ meeting in his Ile-Oluji hometown, he recounted that: “I visited Omotosho Power Plant as a senator-elect in 2019. I had an interactive session with them on the way out of the age-long darkness. Consequently, I met with the management of Benin Electricity Distribution Company in 2020 with the representatives of affected communities led by the Petu of Ode Aye and we discussed how to tackle the power outage in many communities.

“To the glory of God, the meeting was successful. Today, BEDC has released power supply to metered customers in Ode Aye, Igbokoda and some streets in Okitipupa. Also, challenges of communities yet to be energised under the affected local councils were discussed.
