I don't understand Nigerians. This is a bill that will help a lot of people but most of you here are against it. We are the ones making life harder for ourselves. Monthly rent is what is done in most sane countries.
Very simple. NA assembly should build houses so they can control rent. You can only control what belongs to you. First NA should make quit notice illegal. I believe NA members are suffering from over feeding because of bogus money they collect.

Its a good one if you ask me. Those living in the diaspora understood well to that its a good move, it will make Nigerian not to run more than their life. Also will make landlord safe and make easy life for tenant for shap shap accommodation.

The bill is dead on arrival. Landlords who borrowed money with high interest rate to develop & maintain their properties will want to recoup their money quickly. What you people should work on is the reduction of the price of building materials especially cement.
They should leave it as it is in as much as that should not be a priority from the insecurity that is ravaging the country, they should make rents affordable to the nearest minimum if they want to touch housing bill. Joblessness is bad.

The law should not be formulated to compel what's morally right and make it a crime. Tenant and landlord are confined within the doctrine of contract only, what they wish and how they wish payment should be made. 90% tenants can't make monthly rent payment.
