Nigeria's former President, Olusegun Obasanjo says those who burnt his farm in Benue State will be fished out and prosecuted by security agencies. He had acquired about 2,420 hectares of farmland in the community, where he planted fruits such as mango and orange.However, some indigenes, who claimed they were not compensated for the land, had allegedly burnt the farm.
Reacting in a statement on Tuesday, Obasanjo condemned the incident which he described as a bad development.A statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, on Tuesday, and titled ‘Obasanjo condemns burning of farm in Benue,’ said those responsible for the arson attack would be arrested and prosecuted.
They will only end up arresting innocent people.
