Secondus, Lamido, Shema, Odigie-Oyegun back Amotekun

Lamido, who urged governors to adopt lawful strategies to boost security in their states, said the Federal Government overreacted to the establishment ofHe said, “They have the right to enhance security in their states. They should go ahead. I think the government overreacted to be honest. We have a number of outfits in the North for security purposes and I do not see why we should not enhance what will secure us.

He said, “My take on the argument for or against the establishment of the security outfit is that the nation must come together. Security is not a small issue, it affects everybody. Maybe some people in the past thought that what happened in Borno would not happen in other parts of Nigeria. What is happening in the North-East, South-East or South-South may happen to the rest of Nigeria.
