The continued implementation of the 10-year Capital Market Master Plan will be one of the major focus of the new management of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

According to the new Director-General of SEC, Lamido Yuguda, the groundwork done by the past managements and professionalism of the commission’s staff would impact very positively on the capital market.

Yuguda was quoted in a statement issued in Abuja as saying, “In order to do this effectively, we will need to develop relevant capacities. “We will also foster collaboration with relevant stakeholders, be they private, public or international in achieving our mandates.”The Capital Market Masterplan was inaugurated in 2014 with the objective of positioning the market for accelerated development of the national economy.

He noted that many of the plan’s initiatives had been successfully implemented, while many others were work in progress.
