Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu yesterday inaugurated a new public recreational park with the facility symbolising the commercial city’s constant crave for enduring harmony.
The idea of the park, Sanwo-Olu said, stemmed from his desire to heal the wounds of the past and commit the state government to the trust of the young people in helping to uphold their dreams and aspirations. “This recreation ground is for our youths who will use this facility not only as a convergence point for various life-changing activities, but also as a symbol of unity and peaceful coexistence.
He pledged his commitment to improving the quality of life for the residents by embarking on projects that would have direct impacts on their livelihoods. He said the recently launched 30-year development plan was designed for the youth to benefit from opportunities listed in the document. Bello described the project as “another landmark achievement” of the current administration towards improving the well-being of Lagosians, as well as bequeathing a befitting environment to the State in line with the development agenda of the Sanwo-Olu administration.
