Africa will mark 400 years of slavery abolition and year of return during the nine-day events lined up for the continental festival. The Government of Ghana’s main focus for this year’s celebrations is to give people of African descent the opportunity to visit the continent and celebrate Black’s unique contribution to global civilisation and development.
The award will be given to women who have contributed immensely to African development while some Nigerian first ladies will get the prestigious award.
