A bill passed by the Senate seeking to upgrade the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro in Ogun State to a university passed first reading at the House of Representatives on Wednesday.

The Senate had on June 1, 2021, passed the bill sponsored by an All Progressives Congress member, Senator Solomon Adeola, who is representing Lagos West Senatorial District. Speaking on the second phase of the legislative process, Adeola urged the House to expedite action on the bill, considering the importance of the school to the community and the nation at large.
