The house of representatives has aligned with the senate on a clause providing the consensus candidate option for political parties.
In the first harmonised version of the revised harmonised bill seen by TheCable, the consensus candidate option was excluded. “Recall that on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, section 84 of the electoral act No.6 2010 bill was reconsidered in the committee of the whole following the withholding of assent by the president with observations,” he said.
