The Director-General, National Centre for Technology Management, Prof.

Okechukwu Ukwuoma, has advised students in higher institutions across the country to copy and replicate scientific and technological innovations of advanced countries in a bid to prevent brain drain.

According to him, by doing that, they would also be contributing to the nation’s economy and create wealth. Ukwuoma, who spoke at the campus of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State, while giving his scorecard as NACETEM DG, also stressed the need to leverage Science, Technology and Innovation more in the evolving Nigeria economy.

Ukwuoma, in a statement by the NACETEM Public Relations Officer, Oluyi Adesuyi, lamented that Nigerians were moving to developed countries at the detriment to the nation’s economy and development. He said, “There is a need for students to copy and replicate innovations from developed countries for nation-building. This will check brain-drain and contribute to the innovations and development of the country.”All rights reserved.
