The duo of Nigerian singers, Divine Ikubor, aka Rema, and David Adeleke, aka Davido, have debuted songs on Spotify’s 2023 ‘Songs of Summer’ predictions.

Rema’s hit song with American superstar, Selena Gomez ‘Calm Down’ and ‘Unavailable’ from Davido’s latest album ‘Timeless’ were the only African songs predicted by Spotify to blow up charts this summer. “To help visualize what’s hot worldwide, we’ve created a map that highlights the most popular tunes in more than 100 countries across the Northern Hemisphere,” Spotify said about the predictions in a statement on the streaming platform’s website on Wednesday.

Some of the songs predicted for the summer include, ‘Cruel Summer’ by Taylor Swift, ‘Favourite Song’ by Toosii, ‘Calm Down’ by Rema and Selena Gomez, ‘All My Life’ by Lil Durk ft. J. Cole, ‘Unavailable’ by Davido ft. Musa Keys, and ‘Where She Goes’ by Bad Bunny, among others. Meanwhile, Davido has expressed his excitement about the prediction as he retweeted it with a lovely smile emoji.
