Relief as Third Mainland Bridge is reopened

The minister said the brick deck work would be completed next month and would be inaugurated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Represented by the Federal Controller of Works, Lagos, Olukorede Kesha, the minister hailed Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his assistance in the management of traffic during the rehabilitation.Umahi expressed indebtedness to workers of the Federal Ministry of Works, especially the Director of Bridge Rehabilitation, Director Southwest and Federal Controller of Works Lagos, for their commitments in the success of the rehabilitation.

‘Without his commitments, this project would not have become a reality. Without his support, he has supported the ministry all the way. It has never been done like this,” she said. Lagos State Commissioner for Transport, Osiyemi Seun, said: “Maintenance in this place will be categorised into two, maintenance of infrastructure, and also maintenance of safety as regards vandalism.”
