The sacking of Sale Mamman, has been hailed by many Nigerians who groan under incessant increment of electricity tariffs and blackout.

Twenty-seven plants are currently connected to the national grid, which is being managed by the TCN. A number of the plants often don’t produce any megawatts of electricity.

Notably, the incessant collapse of the national power grid, astronomical rise in electricity tariffs paid by Nigerians have worsened the blackout being experienced by households and businesses in parts of Nigeria. Many of them have resorted to using generating sets, spending a chunk of their profit or income on fuel.

Born on February 2, 1958, Mamman hails from the Jalingo Local Government Area of Taraba State, according to his profile on the website of the West African Power and Energy Cooperation Conference which was held in Abuja from June 3 to 4, 2021. “Engr. Mamman has also worked in many organisations which include – Ag. Head of Works, Jalingo Local Government 1983-1984. Technical Instructor, Vocational Training School Jalingo, 1988-1990. Ofoalya Primary and Secondary School, Ondo State in 1991-1992 . Ministry of Works and Housing Jalingo, Taraba State.
