Pro-Iranian group claims attack on US troops in Syria

The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights had previously reported that the base was attacked by a drone that was shot down by US troops. The US military did not initially comment. The al-Tanf base had been attacked several times in the past. The Islamic Resistance in Iraq is a kind of umbrella group for pro-Iranian militias in Iraq. It has been operating together under this name since the terrorist acts by the Palestinian Islamist Hamas on October 7 in Israel.

This includes Kataib Hezbollah, one of the strongest militias in Iraq, which is also calling for the withdrawal of U.S. troops from the country.
