This, the electoral commission, said would 'give more time for eligible Nigerians to exercise their right to participation the same way the electoral body has extended the deadline for party primaries'.

Primaries: You Have 48 Hours To Extend Deadline For Voter Registration Or Face Legal Action, SERAP Tells Nigeria's Electoral Commission, INEC

The INEC made a U-turn last week by suddenly extending the deadline for the conduct of primaries by political parties by six days, from June 3 to June 9. Also, the online pre-registration ends by May 30, 2022, while the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration ends by June 30, 2022. “Extending the deadline for voter registration would be entirely consistent with constitutional and international standards, and the Electoral Act. Any such extension would also not impact negatively on the INEC’s election calendar and activities.

“The public perception of the independence and impartiality of INEC is essential for building public confidence in the electoral process, and ensuring the credibility and legitimacy of the 2023 elections. Where Nigerians have doubts about the independence and impartiality of INEC, they are more likely to have less confidence in the electoral process thereby undermining democracy.

I commend you on this

Wished this SERAP have the power, than normal talk

Nigerians common enemy is inecnigeria . Just looking at how they shifted the deadline for party primaries because of APC is a clear indication that INEC is not trustworthy as an unbiased umpire. It's Nigerians VS INEC/APC in 2023 election. SERAPNigeria please note this.

All this once, all they know how to do is to tweet and rant on social media👨🏼‍🦯👨🏼‍🦯

Serap makes lots of noise

I guess since there’s electronic/online registration, having a deadline ought not to be a big deal. But did strap or serap do anything to conscientise voters towards registration, for how many years now? Now they want to issue threats. Una head no too correct for this place

Toothless Serap

inecnigeria extend voter registration deadline pls.💞

They won’t do that the electorate amount to nothing to them ... reason why every Nigerian should come out and vote... let them feel the pain ...

Supported the inecnigeria voters registration service is too poor and slow even the online application method is not doing passport capturing again they need to exten abeg

I pray oooo

No sue by serap has ever worked, but Inec should extend voter registration because they also extended the party primaries

supported

Why the extension? It’ll only linger on like NIN, and voting or politics is critical. Time cannot be wasted. We want to leave this terrible situation. More time is only room for more fraud in the process where cows in the north will add to the number of registered voters .

Sahara ka peas kab milega

Serap should please keep quiet & stop disturbing the nation.

SERAP Lack integrity. The first time I heard them sue the government I tot we in better hand but I see they simply lack way it takes.

Is SERAP a Nigerian organization? Even if INEC extends it to a thousand days more those who don't want to register would still not register

This Serap should’ve been sharap 😁😏

Serap are officially mad

In the Northern Nigeria. They speak only one language not even English. In the Southern Nigeria. They speak Yoruba. Igbo. English. Itsekiri. Urhobo. Confused people who don't understand the importance of language. The North will always win. That's why One Nigeria can never work
