Aliyu Muhammadu Sanni, Chairman of the group in a statement issued on Monday in Kaduna said, “We are calling on the President-elect to be magnanimous and try to unite the country into one family, he should ensure there is uniform distribution of political appointments to well deserving individuals from all regions of the country for its unity and development.”
He condemned in all ramifications the plot by those he called “some few mischief makers” to institute an interim government, commending the DSS for uncovering the evil plan and called on them not to rest until they find and bring to book the perpetrators of the plan. The chairman also called on the President-elect to give special attention to transforming the economy into a modern and global one that would compete with the economies of advanced countries, saying that Nigeria has both the potential and resources to make that happen.
He appealed to the President-elect to ensure capable and experienced hands are assembled to effectively carry out policies that would reduce poverty and make Nigeria safe and restore its lost glory. The statement explained that the introduction of good policies in the country would eventually lead to the reduction of crime and create a suitable atmosphere for businesses to thrive and create more job opportunities for the teeming youths.
