“In keeping with the established internal policies of the party and as we approach the convention in a few days, therefore, I wish to solicit the reciprocity and support of the governors and other stakeholders in picking my successor, who would fly the flag of our party for election into the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2023,” the President added.
A statement issued by the President’s Media Adviser, Femi Adesina, quoted the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Atiku Bagudu, as promising to support the President to ensure that they come up with a candidate who will walk in the footsteps of patriotism and love for the country, which Buhari has shown.

BUHARI, IMPOSSIBLE DREAM. In 2014 Buhari becomes APC Presidential candidate through primary election & not by consensus. Buhari was not Nation wide accepted before & after he became APC Candidate. WHY is BUHARI SCARED OF HIS OWN SHADOW? Will Nigerians comfortable with his choice
For the first time I agree with PMB. If Governors irrespective of their political parties have been choosing who takes over from them freely, why wouldn't they also allow PMB to choose who becomes his party's Presidential candidate and perhaps his successor?
Consensus is good so that APC will be fractured for Peter Obi. In fact, let them return it to the North.
