The House of Representatives Thursday summoned the Group Managing Director of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation , Mele Kolo Kyari, Director General, Department of the State Security Service , Yusuf Bichi, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele and the Controller General of Customs, Ali Hameed.

Stakeholders including the Nigeria Ports Authority, NPA, the Nigeria Navy, Ministry of Transport, Nigeria Shippers’ Council, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Nigeria Ports Authority, Intel, amongst others. However, the NNPC, CBN, Customs and DSS were missing amongst those invited prompting the panel to summon them as important stakeholders.

He further said the hearing “also seeks to question why in spite of the many efforts of government over the years which has come by way of building more port complexes, concessioning and the complete involvement of private sector in some aspects of operation in our nations maritime subsector, the congestion in the Lagos port complexes in Apapa and Tin can islands still persists.
