Police Urge Nigerians To Report Officers Who Demand Tinted Vehicle Glass Permit | Sahara Reporters

Nigerians have been urged to report police personnel who demand permits for tinted glasses at checkpoints in any part of the country.

Adejobi also said it would not be appropriate for any policeman to demand customs papers or other documents not relevant to their duties. “No policeman should demand your customs papers,” the force spokesman said in one of the tweets. “No. Except they are on joint operation, but not just on mere routine checks.

“We are to stop any vehicle with tints, search the vehicle, and its occupants, but not to delay him for not having tinted glass permits. Report them if you are so delayed so that we ask them questions.”

We should report to who?

Whenever there is a new rule, it should be printed in a money-like-tract and handed to the policemen at checkpoints else they won’t know it exists

Install central computer system in all police stations & make sure every infringement or offense is entered into the system. Denial & twisting of facts are major detested attitude of the Nigerian police.

You can't rely on what IG says or what force spokes person says. Some rank and file still wear face cap and muffty on the high way despite IGs warning. Too many bad eggs in that force now.

If it's not for stupidity, some years back when dindinrin in Abuja said tint permit is a must, I said it won't end well, and yes police would abuse it,everybody knows pathfinder has factory fitted tint back windows, police extorted me for that And again they used that permit 1

After showing them my pokce tint permit, they aske dme for medical report supporting my need for tinted windows even though the car was bought like dt! Had to part with 2k cos I was too scared for my life on a highway.. Medical report for tinted windows! 😀

I know some corrupt policemen will not be happy with this new development. Some of them are always stationed at Pen Cinema bus stop. Once they see tinted glass pepper don sure for them anyhow.
