Police rescue man abducted by fake soldiers

Anambra State Police command said it has rescued one Emmanuel Loco abducted in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government area of the state.He said the victim was abducted by two men on military attires and face cap within Ogidi around Bucky Poly Abatete road of the town.

He said, “On the 24/5/2019 at about 7:35pm, distress call was received at Ogidi Police Station that one Emmanuel Loco ‘m’ of Abagana was abducted within Ogidi around Bucky Poly Abatete road.“Following the report, Police operatives attached to Operation Puff Adder and Ogidi Division mobilized to the area.

Adamu confirmed as IG, promises to re-organise police | | The Nation NewspaperMOHAMMED Adamu was yesterday confirmed Inspector-General (IG) by the Nigeria Police Council (NPC). The Council, chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari, confirmed Adamu's appointment during its meeting at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Members of the council expressed satisfaction with Adamu's performance since his appointment in an acting capacity on January 15. He was appointed at the expiration of the tenure of former IG Ibrahim Idris, who retired at 60, the statutory retirement age. Speaking to reporters after his confirmation, the IG promised to re-organise the police for efficiency to fight banditry, kidnapping, insurgency and general insecurity across the country. In Lagos, Commissioner Zubairu Muazu paraded 159 suspects who were hauled in by the new anti-crime strategy 'Operation Puff Adder'. Among them were robbery, kidnapping and cultism suspects. On display were 43 arms and 80 ammunition, which the police chief said were recovered from the suspects.
