The spokesman of the State Command, DSP Haruna Abdullahi, in a statement said the weapons were recovered during a special raid at the secretariat of political parties in the local government areas. He said four persons suspected to be thugs were arrested at PDP headquarter, and another four at the APC secretariat.
But in a swift reaction, the APC chairman in the State, Abdullahi Abbas, denied the arrest of any member of the party in connection with the weapons recovered. Similarly, the PDP secretary, Shehu Wada Sargagi, said, officially, nobody reported the matter to the party’s state secretariat.
