The organization made this assertion on Friday in a press release signed by its Director of Media and Publicity, Comrade O’Seun John, while requesting for an immediate amendment of Section 2 ii, Section 3 and Section 8 of the EFCC Act.
“We view the imbroglio that greeted the removal of Ibrahim Magu has a signpost of a faulty foundational system for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission . “We are therefore proposing an amendment to Section 2 ii that limits the qualification to the position of the Chairman of the EFCC to ‘a serving or retired member of any government security or law enforcement agency not below the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police or equivalent’ we strongly believe that there are men and women of character in Nigeria who have proven over the years that they possess the courage, integrity and independence to act right.
