The command said the truck violated the curfew imposed on the state to contain the spread of COVID-19.
In a statement released on Friday, the command’s Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Jalige, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said the vehicle’s driver and the passengers have been taken into custody. Jalige said the command has instituted an investigation into the matter with a view to prosecuting the offenders, according to the state Quarantine Law.The statement read, “The driver of the truck violated the restriction order on interstate non-essential movement by concealing 91 passengers, 24 goats, 14 motorcycles and 30 bags containing different items.
“However, the passengers have been rescued and investigation into the matter has since commenced with the view to prosecuting the offender in accordance with Kaduna State Quarantine Law.”All rights reserved.
