The Ekiti State Police Command has detained a #EndSARS protester, Moyinoluwa Olowoyo, for 30 days without trial for taking part in demonstrations in the state, his family has said.
Olayemi said his brother may have been singled out because he is a former member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party. A bail application by a lawyer, Nkereuwem Akpan, addressed to the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Force Intelligence Bureau, dated November 3, 2020, stated that Moyinoluwa had not been charged with any crime and yet the police had refused to release him.
He said, “We got the senator involved and she confirmed to us that they were demanding an apology. I understand that the guy’s father wrote the apology but the police have still refused to release him. There is no court order for his detention.
Our police can never change. Restructuring is the way to go. Bastardised system

michael_asah With the training they had, and the Nigerian constitution, it's very wrong to detain a suspect for 24 hours
Next thing now, oga liar Mohammed would say protesters lives are not in danger if they stay here. So, peaceful protesters are still in captivity? And rather than the courts speaking up against such executive rascality, they hide behind obscure laws.🤬🤬🤬🤬

Ordinary protesters is been detained, while other shamful act is cover up.
It's hightime we sent governors of these states a strong warning This nonsense must stop. Citizens in those states should do a sit at home .. Whether u support EndSARS or not . Never Support injustice!
The same government where bandits, kidnappers and Boko Haram reign supreme illegally detain peaceful protesters This government is worse than the military regime.
Restless!
The Nigerian police can never be reformed because this people joined the job without proper training... these youths that you penalise unjustly will come back as karma.. on God mark my words
A working social register is required in this country! Next time a protest is to be done, all participants must register with NIN for traceability. So we can account properly for ourselves.
See his face like pigs
Lawless country
and after the EndSarsProtests we still have the PoliceNG display their ignorant behaviour as usual so what has changed after the protest.......Absolutely nothing
Injury time for them all
Bullshit country 😪
