Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the death of seven persons in fresh attacks by suspected gunmen in the State.
The gunmen were said to have raided the villages of Gara and Gamji in Burra District of Ningi Local Government Area on Tuesday night.DAILY POST reports that Ningi LGA has been vulnerable to attacks in recent times due to its proximity to Lame-Burra Forest Reserve, a hideout for kidnappers.The Spokesman of the Command, Superintendent Ahmed Wakili described the killing as “unprovoked and mindless”.
Wakil, however, said the operatives of the command, with support from the Nigerian Military, engaged the bandits and neutralized three of them in the process.The bandits were also said to have killed one volunteer security guard and injured one soldier in Gamji Village during a gun duel with the soldiers.
