The Lagos police command says its officers have arrested five suspected cultists in the Ajegunle area of the state.

The suspects are Peter Odumola, Promise Benjamin, Emmanuel Ikechuckwu, Richards Adu, and Abdullahi Nasiru.

In a statement issued on Monday, Benjamin Hundeyin, Lagos police spokesperson, said the suspects were arrested after the police received a call about forceful cult initiation at a hotel. “The suspects were arrested on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at about 0200hrs following receipt of a distress call concerning an ongoing forceful initiation happening in a hotel in the Ajegunle area of Lagos state,” the statement reads.“The victim was successfully rescued. The suspects will be arraigned upon conclusion of investigations.
