The Edo state police command has arrested five suspected armed robbers and kidnappers notorious for terrorising Kogi and Edo states.
The command’s public relations officer, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor in a statement on Saturday, disclosed that the arrest followed a robust raid and search of the Auchi axis on April 19, 2019, as ordered by the state Commissioner of Police, Dan-Mallam Mohammed.The statement said that coordinated intelligence collaboration between operatives of the Department of State Security and the police, led to the arrest of the suspects.
“Based on credible intelligence through the Department of the State Security in conjunction with the office of the Inspector-General of Police, Edo State Police Command was alerted by the Inspector-General of Police that the above-mentioned criminal elements are planning coordinated attacks against police formations in Edo State.
