Disclosing the arrests to journalists in Warri on the telephone on Sunday, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr Hafiz Inuwa, said the suspects were nabbed separately by police operatives on a routine stop-and-search duty.
“We have arrested 11 kidnappers. They kidnapped somebody and dispossessed him of his SUV. They were intercepted by our men and two were arrested. “The two led to the arrest of nine others in Oghara, Mosogar, Jesse and Sapele communities in Ethiope-West and Sapele local government areas of Delta State,” the state police boss said.
While expressing delight at the mass arrests, Inuwa noted that suspected kidnappers had been troubling residents in the areas for some time now. He commended the policemen for smashing the syndicate, just as he urged them to intensify efforts to rid the area of all criminal elements. All rights reserved.
