The Police have arrested no fewer than 105 suspected political thugs for various electoral offences during Saturday’s governorship and state assembly elections in Imo State.

The suspects were said to have been arrested for snatching ballot boxes, disrupting elections, harassing electoral officials and impersonating policemen.

He stated that the poll was largely hitch-free and smooth across the state, adding that investigation had commenced into the killing of one person at Umudi, Nkwerre Local Government Area.He said, “We have 105 suspects in custody. They were arrested for various electoral offences during the elections.”
