The police in Lagos, yesterday, arraigned a 48-year-old cleric, David Olasupo, before a Badagry Chief Magistrate’s court for allegedly posting a woman’s pictures on Facebook and tagging her ‘ritualist’.

The prosecutor, Inspector Ayodele Adeosun, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 29, at about 10:30 p.m., at Ilogbo-Eremi, Badagry, Lagos State.

The prosecutor added that the defendant used to invite the complainant for fellowship and evangelism until they had a misunderstanding.After taking his plea, the Chief Magistrate, Mr Patrick Adekomaiya, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.ALSO, the Lagos State Police Command, yesterday, arraigned a 65-year-old woman, Yetunde Olajuwon, in a Badagry Chief Magistrate’s Court, for allegedly assaulting her landlord.

The offence contravened the provisions of Sections 172, 350 and 232 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. Lagos State has been declared the biggest transit and destination hub for internal or external human trafficking in Nigeria with about 2,074 persons trafficked in the last five years, while 27 were convicted in connection to the crime.
