People threatened to kill me after I survived drowning — DJ Michelle - Punch Newspapers

A budding disc jockey, Michelle Abesin, aka DJ Michelle, was recently in the news when it was alleged that she had drowned at Lafiaji beach, Epe Lagos. However, she was said to have been rescued after 24 hours. Since the incident occurred, many had said it was a publicity stunt but Michelle maintains that she did not fake the experience.“I went to the beach with my sister and friends to have fun.

“I cannot say precisely how long I was under water but when I opened my eyes the first time, it was still dark. I think it was around 9pm. It’s not true that I was under water for 24 hours.” According to her, when she was taken to the hospital, doctors told her that her alcohol intake on the day could be responsible for her not remembering what actually happened. She said, “After asking what had happened, the doctor said it could have been alcohol that didn’t make me remember what happened. I was asked to do a brain test because I had a severe headache like a migraine, and I couldn’t remember anything.

Michelle also alleged that she had been getting threats since the incident. She said, “I have had to put a hold on my career and not do a lot of things because of this incident. People have also been threatening me, saying that since I created a stunt that I was dead, they would kill me for real. I have had to move away from my former home because of that.”

Faking death for publicity stunt is very annoying
