The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP , Illya Umar Damagum has said his position is not a matter of life and death. Damagun disclosed this to journalists in Abuja after the party's National Working Committee, NWC, passed a vote of confidence on him. The PDP 's NWC had passed the vote of confidence on Damagum during the 584th meeting held at the Party’s National Secretariat on Tuesday.
The motion for a Vote of Confidence on the Acting National Chairman was raised by the Deputy National Chairman , Taofeek Arapaja, moved by the National Vice Chairman , Chief Ali Odefa, and seconded by the National Treasurer, Yayari Mohammed. However, he said the struggle to remain in office was not a big deal to him, adding that leadership change would not rob him of his place in the PDP. “This is not a matter of life and death. I am still an elected member of this NEC.
