A member of the People’s Democratic Party’s Board of Trustees Senator Joy Emordi has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress.Emordi, who was received by the Chairman APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni in Abuja, said her decision to defect was borne out of the conviction that the future of a prosperous and united Nigeria lies in the APC.

“The APC led federal government is working for the South East and this is attracting more PDP members into APC.” Buni further stated that the decision by Emordi and other prominent politicians from the Southeast into the APC will promote national unity.
