Pandemic May Cause Africa’s 1st Recession In 25 Years – World Bank

The World Bank on Thursday warned sub-Saharan Africa could slip into its first recession in a quarter of century because of the coronavirus pandemic.

“We project that economic growth in Sub-Saharan Africa will decline from 2.4 percent in 2019 to -2.1 to -5.1 percent in 2020, the first recession in the region in 25 years,” the Bank said in an assessment.

There always been a recession especially in Nigeria. The definition and magnitude is what we have been battling with.

We have been in recession, we are used to it

Then we will come out of it as Nigeria leads the way.

Only if African leaders politicize CONVID19. Some are already seeing it as a means to cancel their debts and some as means to borrow more money from world bank and to some a means to cash out. But if we'll managed no recession will occur. Most of our leaders ain't proactive.

No so so bad vision you dey see for Africa

Recession or not. Africa will bounce back only if the AU leaders come together to have a master plan and how to salvage the continent from external forces..ingenious growth and devp of core resources within the land, water and plants. But they prefer to run to EU or China fro help

It won't happen

Nigeria has always being in recession how are we suppose to survive dis with the kind of selfish govt we av

But Africa has been on lifetime recession! Like some lifeless President

This is the reason why people (the rest of the wrold) think Africa is a country...... 😒

Go straight to the point Nigeria Recession

Africa that's is recession normally 😅😂

Hmmmmmm

it will affect every continent, not just Africa.

Bring it on

Then we go back farming...It's a global recession not just Africa.
