The state’s Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Abiodun Abdu-Raheem, said the government would sanction principals and parents found wanting because of its zero tolerance for examination malpractices.
Abdu-Raheem, who warned principals to desist from encouraging examination malpractices which are becoming endemic in both private and public schools in the state, said that de-recognised schools would not be permitted to present candidates for WAEC for two years, adding: “However, this does not debar students of such schools from sitting for WAEC, as they will be mobilised to the nearest schools to write the examination. Only the identified school is de-recognised as a WAEC centre.
Abdu-Raheem advised heads of public and private institutions to desist from any act that could ridicule their schools and portray the image of the state in a bad light. He, however, enjoined the public to note that no student would be prevented from writing the WAEC in the 2022/2023 academic session and subsequent years.
