A former Governor of Oyo State, Chief Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala, has advised the incumbent Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, to without wasting more time, postpone the forthcoming local government election in the state.as the date for the conduct of local government election in the thirty-three local government areas of the state.
Alao-Akala in his reaction, advised Makinde to postpone the election to a later date in order to protect the sanctity of our evolving democracy. “Going on with the local government election as earlier scheduled will throw the state into another round of legal gymnastics. My advice to him is to sit down with the OYSIEC officials, look in to the new development and do the needful which is to shift the election date.“He know what the law says as regards disenfranchisement, he know what the constitution say about holding elections and he knows the consequences of holding a one sided election.
