One Asimiyu Salami, a night guard working with a plastic manufacturing company based in Osogbo, Osun State on Monday appeared before an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing production equipment of a firm located behind a police station.

The 21-year-old defendant, who was arraigned on a count, bordering on theft of the equipment worth N750, 000, however pleaded not guilty. The prosecutor, Kayode Adeoye, told the court that Salami committed the offence on January 21, 2022 at Iyanu Plastic Nigeria Limited, behind Dugbe Police Station, Osogbo.The offence committed was said to be contrary to Section 383 and punishable under Section 390 of the Criminal Code CAP 34 Vol. II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.

Addressing the court, counsel to the defendant, K. Adepoju, urged the magistrate to admit his client to bail, assuring her that he would provide reliable sureties that would stand for him.
