On August 5, 2022, former governor Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress had petitioned the victory of Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party after he was declared the winner of the July 16, 2022 Osun gubernatorial election.
While restating that the petition of Oyetola and the APC will be dismissed, he added that Adeleke’s victory at the Osun guber poll was a retrieval of his mandate that was stolen four years ago when he secured 403,371 votes, 28,344 more than Oyetola who polled 375,027 votes. “However, Oyetola and the APC approached the Tribunal to challenge Senator Adeleke’s victory, citing fallacies.
