The Head of Service, Dr Festus Olowogboyega, said in a statement on Thursday in Osogbo that N508 million was approved for the payment of retirees under the old pension scheme, while N150 million was for the payment of retirees under the contributory pensions scheme.
Olowogboyega added that an additional N50 million was approved for the payment of gratuities of retired officers under the old pension scheme. The Head of Service also said that the governor had also approved immediate payment of retirees under the contributory pension, whose arrears is between N500,000 and N 1 million.
